Grand Theft Auto Series
Genres: Action-adventure, Open world
Developers: Rockstar Games, Rockstar North, Rockstar Leeds, Rockstar Toronto, Rockstar Lincoln
First release: Grand Theft Auto, Oct. 1997
Latest release: Grand Theft Auto III(for iOS, Android), Dec. 15, 2011

-Grand Theft Auto(GTA) is a multi award winning video game series created in the UK by dave Jones, then later on by Dan Houser and Sam Houser.
-It's primarily developed by British developer Rockstar North
-The name of the series refers to grand theft auto, a type of car crime referring to motor vehicle theft
-The series is set in fictional locales heavily based on American cities, while an expansion for the original was based on London.
-Gameplay is open world, meaning you can run around, explore, do missions at your leisure, side activities, consisting of driving, action-adventure, occasional role playing, stealth, racing.
-The game play has comedic satire based on American culture, but the series has been under fire for it's controversial adult nature and violent themes. The game is focused around different good guys trying to rise through the ranks of the criminal underworld. The bad guys are commonly characters who have betrayed the good guy or characters who have the most impact preventing the good guy from his/her progress
-And as for voices, famous people have provided voices for characters in the various games of this series. Such as:
  • Michael Madsen
  • Phil Collins
  • Jenna Jameson
  • Gary Busey
  • Ray Liotta
  • Samuel L. Jackson
  • Danny Trejo
  • Frank Vincent
  • Robert Loggia
  • Kyle MacLachlan
  • Peter Fonda
  • Dennis Hopper
  • Burt Reynolds
  • Chris Penn
  • Joe Pantoliano
  • James Woods

Overview
-Each game allows it's player to take on the role of a criminal or wannabe in a big city, typically an individual who rises through the ranks of organized crime through the course of the game. The player is given various missions to accomplish by kingpins and major idols in the city underworld which have to be done in order to progress.

-Assassinations and other crimes appear regularly, but occasionally driving a taxi, firefighting, street racing, bus driving, or learning to fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are also present
-In the later ones, most notably Grand Theft Auto 2, the player is given a more expanded storyline in which he is forced to overcome an unfortunate event(i.e. being betrayed and left for dead) which serves as motivation for the character to advance.
-Grand Theft Auto III and later games have more prevalent voice acting, and radio stations, which simulate driving to music with DJs, radio personalities, commercials, talk radio, pop music and American culture.
-The use of vehicles in an explorable urban location provides a basic idea of a working city, complete with pedestrians who obey traffic. Further details are used to create an open ended atmosphere that has been used before, such as in The Simpsons Hit & Run, which is more family friendly.

Setting
-The GTA series is set in a fictional version of the world, in a number of various time periods. The original GTA introduced 3 main locations: Liberty City, which is based on New York City, Vice City, which is based on Miami and San Andreas, which is based on Los Angeles.
-Later games have been redone and expanded on the original. GTA: San Andreas takes place in the state of San Andreas, which is based on California and Nevada and includes the cities Los Santos(Los Angeles), San Fierro(San Francisco) and Las Venturas(Las Vegas).
-There have been other versions made, like an expansion pack for the original have London 1969 and London 1961, set in London, have been made as expansion packs for the original.

1960s: My Ideal Decade

I wish I could have been born in this decade! All the good music came from this decade. And what's kinda cool is that if it was not for The Beatles, you may not have some of the musicians that are around today. I'll bet you that most of these musicians would list The Beatles as their inspiration

Performance
Hard to believe that Mick would enjoy being completely naked in certain scenes of this movie! From the way I hear it, in a few scenes of this movie, it shows Mick fully naked from the front! Ewwww!

Goldfinger

Psycho

Man from U.N.C.L.E
The actor with blonde hair is still acting today. Now, David McCallum plays the medical examiner, Dr. Mallard, or 'Ducky' on NCIS

-The Small Faces were an English rock and roll band from East London, who was heavily influenced by American R&B.

-Formed in 1965 by Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, Jimmy Winston. In 1966, Winston was replaced by Ian McLagan as the band's keyboard player.

-The band is remembered as one of the most influential mod groups of the 1960s London era.

-The band started back up in the 1970s, only this time the band was renamed Faces, with Ronnie Wood, Rod Stewart, who were from the Jeff Beck Group. Ronnie Wood served as guitarist, Rod Stewart served as lead vocalist

-In the 1990s Britpop movement, The Small Faces are considered to be one of the biggest inspirations for most of the British pop groups of the 1990s.

History
-Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriot met each other in 1965 while Marriot was working at the J60 Music Bar in Manor Park, London. Lane came with his dad Stan to buy a bass guitar and this led to him going to Marriot's house to listen to records. The 2 recruited Kenney Jones and Jimmy Winston, who were best friends. How they came to use the name Small Faces is because of the band's small stature.

-Some of their early songs include "Jump Back", their rendition of James Brown's "Please Please Please", their rendition of Smokey Robinson's "You Really Got a Hold on Me", Ben E. King's "Stand by Me". Their first major concert was at a working men's club in Sheffield. The band was paid after 3 songs because the crowd consisted of mainly Teddy Boys and hard drinking men. This band was heavily supported by Sonny & Cher, who lived in London at the time.

-The band got a contract with England record company Decca, through Don Arden. Their first major hit was "Whatcha Gonna Do About It", which became a Top 14 UK singles hit on the charts.

-In 1966, after they broke off Decca, they were offered a new deal from ex-Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham. So the band was given an open account at Olympic Studios in London. Their first hit was "Here Comes the Nice", which was said to have been influenced by their drug use.

-At the end of 1968, Marriot left the band, walking off the stage during a live New Year's Eve concert, simply yelling "I quit." He was looking ahead to form a band called Humble Pie with Peter Frampton.

1970-1975
-After the band split up, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan halted on music until they decided to join forces with Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, who were previously with the Jeff Beck Group. They dropped the Small part form the name and became just Faces.

-The band broke up in 1975, as later that year, Rod Stewart went solo and Ronnie Wood would go on to join up with The Rolling Stones.

1975-1978
-The band tried to re-record an old hit called Itchycoo Park, which hit the charts once again. But unfortunately, Ronnie Lane was beginning to show symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which everyone thought was a drunken tantrum.

Post reunion: 1979-present
-Ian McLagan went on to perform with musicians such as The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, David Lindley, Billy Bragg.

-Kenney Jones became the new drummer for The Who after Keith Moon's death in 1978 and continued until the late 1980s. He recently formed a band called The Jones Gang

-On Saturday, April 20, 1991, Steve Marriot died in sleep when a fire, caused by a cigarette, swept through his house in Essex, England. His death came a few days after he began work on a new album in America with Humble Pie band member Peter Frampton.

Ronnie Lane's career took a sharp turn because of multiple sclerosis, but he managed to do work with Who guitarist Pete Townshend and Rolling Stones guitarist and former band mate Ronnie Wood in the 1970s. Lane died on June 4, 1997 in his home in Trinidad, Colorado after battling MS for nearly 20 years
