Ferrari

This post is for my stepdad. He loves and I mean LOVES anything Ferrari!! He has alot of Ferrari models in the basement in addition to a few T-shirt bearing the Prancing Horse.

Ferrari

-Sports car company in Maranello, Italy
-Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929, as Scuderia Ferrari, they manufactured race cars and sponsored drivers before making street legal vehicles as Ferrari S.p.A in 1947

-This company is best known for it's participation in racing, especially in Formula One

History
-Enzo Ferrari never intended to make cars in 1928 as a sponsor for amateur drivers in Modena.
-Scuderia Ferrari literally means "Ferrari Stable" in Italian
-Ferrari successfully raced various drivers in Alfa Romeo cars until 1938, when he was hired by Alfa Romeo to head their motor racing department
-In 1941, Alfa Romeo was taken by the fascist government of Benito Mussolini for the war effort. Enzo Ferrari's division was small enough to be unaffected by the government.
-The first actual Ferrari car was called the Tipo 815.
-The first Ferrari road car was the 1947 125 S, powered by a 1.5 L V12 engine
-In 1988, Enzo Ferrari oversaw the launch of the Ferrari F40, the last new Ferrari to be launched before his death later that year. It's one of the most famous supercars ever made.
-From 2002-2004, Ferrari introduced the Enzo, the fastest model at the time, in honor of the company's founder. Since the cars were $1.8 million apiece, it was only limited to the most wealthy car owners
-On May 17, 2009, in Maranello, Italy, a 1957 250 Testa Rossa was auctioned o0ff, by RM Auctions for $1.2 million.

Names

M ("Modificata"), placed at the end of a model's number, denotes a modified version of its predecessor and not a complete evolution (see F512 M and 575 M Maranello).

GTB ("Gran Turismo Berlinetta") models are closed Berlinettas, or coupes.

GTS ("Gran Turismo Spyder") in older models, are open Spyders (spelt "y"), or convertibles (see 365 GTS/4); however, in more recent models, this suffix is used for targa top models (see Dino 246 GTS, and F355 GTS; the exception being the 348 TS, which is the only targa named differently). The convertible models now use the suffix "Spider" (spelt "i") (see F355 Spider, and 360 Spider).

GTO ("Gran Turismo Omologata"), placed at the end of a model's number, denotes a modified version of its predecessor. Indeed, those three letters designate a model which has been designed and improved for racetrack use while still being a street-legal model. Only three models bear those three letters; the 250 GTO of 1962, the 288 GTO of 1984 and the 599 GTO of 2010.

Ahhh, To Travel Far and Wide

I was inspired by a fellow blogger called Summer Baby to do a blog post about traveling. I'm starting to think I'll never get out of school. I swear, I'm never recommending Gateway to anyone!!!! This school SUCKS! If only I could travel. To just get away from all the stress. I wouldn't tell anyone where I was going or when I'd be back or if I'd be back. Sometimes I think it would be way easier to live in another country, because it seems like they don't have as many problems as the US does right now. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm proud to be American, but sometimes that gets tested. Sometimes I regret saying that because the economy of the US sucks right now. People are fighting tooth and nail for jobs, people are losing their homes and jobs, but the famous people of our world can spend millions on weddings only to divorce 3 days later? WTF?

-The London Eye. Gotta ride this ferris wheel. I bet the view from the top is amazing!

Dreams and Future Plans

I always like to think ahead, mainly because of just little random thoughts. I'm pretty optimistic that something good will happen, but then again, sometimes I worry that maybe I won't be abl to do some of the stuff I want to do. There are so many things that I want to do, I don't know where to start.

Here are some of the goals I have that I want to accomplish, on my 'bucket list'.

-Graduate college
-Go see The Rolling Stones in concert

-Travel to China, Japan, England, Australia, Italy.

-Fall in love
-Lose weight, even though around my house people say I'm skinny as a rail, I still want to be skinny. I think I'm a little chunky.
-Do photography in my spare time

-Meet someone famous

Kate Winslet. She's one of my favorite actresses, and she's so beautiful

-Get married somewhere pretty, like somewhere tropical. That is, when and if I fall in love.
-Help my mom and stepdad out as much as possible
